All,

I just found out about this yesterday from Freddy and was shocked! I am planning on putting a little memorial on our D8 web site this weekend and I would really like to add the thoughts of you all in the note. So please share your thoughts or stories about John that I could post. I would hope we can still hold the CanAm next year and really make it a huge event in John's memory. This contest he founded in Concrete several years a go and he really poured himself into making it a big event.
John is a guy who really loved pattern and even through his health problems he made an effort to stay active, he attended the EAC contest this year and could not fly due to his health.

He will be missed.

So imagine my shock when I started researching the dates for the 2012 Event schedule and I go to the Northwest Hobby Expo only to discover that John Foglesong had passed away October 21st, 2011 after battling cancer. I had just seen John at the Cascade event in August and was always impressed with his enthusiasm and “out of the box” thinking when it came to contests. He was a big influence on the hobby scene in Washington State as the spearhead behind the Northwest Hobby Expo these past few years. My belated condolences to his family and friends."
