As Jim stated, yes.... The judging seminar is for all of us. It's a real good idea to attend.
Jim pretty much covered the reasoning for having it.

Sandy, Oregon is basically twenty miles SE of Portland... it's on the Mt. Hood Hwy 26.

Hi Rex,

I can't work on planes today because of the cold and snow (frozen garage), so I'm sitting at the computer bugging you by writing a bunch of e-mails (now you know how my boss feels). So I have a couple of questions/inputs:

1) Can anyone take the judging seminar, like me ? If so does that mean I can be an additional judge at meets for the higher ranks even though I don't know the maneuvers for any class above Sportsman ?

2) Where is Sandy Oregon ? I like the idea of another meet in late July early August

3) Isn't there anyone in Idaho or Montana that fly pattern ? I don't know, but if there is, maybe a meet in eastern Washington (Spokane) or Northern Idaho (Coeur d'Alene, Atholl) could bring some more participation from those states.

Hi Gang I've thrown together a tentative list of events for the 2009 season. Here's what we have so far: Feb 6-7-8... Northwest Hobby Model Expo * See below May 16-17.. Dave Armstrong Memorial. Frys corner, British Coulmbia. ** See below June 13-14.. Molalla, Or. July 04-05.. Cities, Washington*** See belowAug ? Redmond, Ore Sept 05-06 Creswell, Ore. In amongst all these dates, we still need to approve some dates for the following. * Judging Seminar. Some of you were wanting to hold this as early as possible. The problem is that, with all the new rules changes and the new Masters Sequence, notall the necessary information is readily available. The Power Point Presentations for the Masters Should be available soon. I know that all the rules changes have been approved, but haven't as yet seen it all in print. I'm guessing that everything should be availableby early spring. ** This periond of time is in question for the contest in Wenatchee. *** There has been some talk of the possibility of holding a contest in Sandy, Oregon. The Molalla crew has been working on that. They intend to go an fly at that site to seeif it is suitable for our purposes. If the Sandy contest can be held, it could be thrown together at most any time. This could be a good possiblilty for those who wish to attend a contest during the time the NATs are being held in mid July. We usually have a long dry spell during this time as there is 5-6 weeks between the contest at sTri-Cities and the contest at Redmond, Ore. I'd like to get some feedback on this idea.
