You guys might want to exert this much rhetoric and effort towards promoting the hobby as a whole instead promoting of dissension and petty bullshit

Most know you are only talking about one club and one person. The Bear Mountain Flyers and Chip Hyde.

So with this decision you are going to potentially penalize both the club and contestants because the club unanimously voted to ban him from the field. That was a club vote of over 20-25 members present at the meeting. Does anybody wonder why a club membership would make such a decision about a member? I won't go in to details but it was several actions that hurt both the club and several of it's members. These actions have been well documented and are not up for question. They occurred.

As to the AMA, they have said all along that they have no requirement to force a club to allow entrance to the field someone who has been barred for a contest. None. It is for the most part very rare that someone is banned from a field. But it has happened at other clubs and it happened here. The bottomline is that the AMA has no desire to make BMF allow Chip on the field for a contest.

There are a number of clubs and an even smaller number of CD's that make pattern in this district possible by allowing the use of their facilities for our events. I hope everyone who attends a contest realize that they are guests of the club. I was involved with Leon and the BMF club just about at it's inception. Leon had a dream of a premier facility for pattern and IMAC fliers to have a place to fly and hold events. Due to his hard work and the assistance of many others, his dream has come true. I think everyone who has been to the numerous events run there would agree that it is a great facility. Except for the time when Chip got in between my friendship with Leon, I have always enjoyed BMF. For the NSRCA to try to force Leon and BMF to go against their decision regarding Chip is to me disgusting. Especially with zero discussion between NSRCA officers and BMF officers. Ridiculous.

I wish I could tell the entire story of what Leon did for this person. After the 2011 Worlds in Muncie Chip was hit with Non-Payment of Child Support to the tune of $140K. His passport was taken, his truck was impounded. He was stuck in Phoenix with no place to live. Leon and others went to Phoenix, took him to Bakersfield, Leon took him in to his home. Other BMF fliers loaned him a vehicle. Leon so purely helped this person that when I tried to warn Leon of actions he has done and was doing at the time, Leon got mad at me because he wouldn't hear it about his friend Chip. Caused a very real rift that has just been repaired the last few months. I won't go in to the details of what Chip did to Leon and BMF but if you want to know just ask me privately. But I can tell you they were very real and very serious.

I can tell you that what the NSRCA has decided to do won't stop Leon and BMF from holding their fine events at their beautiful field. I am proud to support Leon and the club in whatever way I can. But it does make me reconsider why I would be a member of an organization that awards poor behavior and punishes integrity.
