[NSRCA-dist7] District 7 Season Championships

We flew unknowns in FAI at Arvin a couple years ago and it was great. I support the inclusion of unknowns in the FAI district championships, but not as a separate event. It should be part of the contest. I don't see a point to having a separate contest to fly unknowns for the top three guys. As for Masters flying unknowns, that isn't in their program but I like the idea. I'm not a fan of holding up the contest completion for it. It adds nothing to the DC so in the end it is just a fun fly event. So, include unk's as part of FAI scoring and dump them for Masters. Or, make it part of FAI and add a voluntary unknown session after the contest for masters and advanced (open to anyone) if there are enough willing participants to fly and judge.

If you can squeeze in a GB event on Friday or Saturday then fine, but only if no one wants to fly. Friday is probably the only chance for it. But I know that in years past at Arvin, both IMAC and Pattern, people want to practice until dark. Don't interrupt practice time for it. Maybe at dusk before some Pacificos and Mex food on Friday????? You don't need much sunlight for that event.

As for a heli demo at noon, that's cool but I guess it depends on the number of contestants. Don't waste prime flying time on it.

Just my fractional dollar's worth.

> To all pattern pilots in D7 – Greetings! We have been having a nice competition season so far and as you all know the season championships are coming up. They will be at the Arvin field on October 20th & 21st. There has been a discussion started on RCU regarding doing some “extra” things at the district contest. I would like to get some feedback from D7 pilots who are planning on attending the district championships.

Scoring for this contest will as always be best 4 out of 6 rounds for the AMA classes and for FAI it will be best 3 out of 4 rounds of the P schedule and the best 1 out of 2 rounds of the F schedule.
