You mention the flight packs are the same brand . . . how about the internal resistance? I can tell the difference flying between my older Zippy Compacts and the brand new ones, the new ones are zippier (if that is a term) in the verticals.

Good Morning. Have a question for the group..... I'm going to try and shorten this story for sake of time.... JT lost his ESC ( Hobbywing ) to the magic smoke genie..... A friend of ours had done some research on another brand ( ZTW Gecko ) HV ESC's, and for sake of time, and cost we decided to go that route. The ESC works very well, and is programable through a program box, or computer. We noticed today that his power is lacking on the verticals compared to his Hobbywing.... I flew it as well, and it is a small struggle to get through long vertical manuvers.... Now to provide more details..... We both are running essientally the same setup, motor, batteries, plane, etc..... Only difference is my almost 9 year old Hobbywing ESC is still rocking, and going strong. Probably just jinxed myself.... Anyways.... Both our planes with testing tach at the same 6300 RPM. We also checked both our birds with a watt meter, and all numbers were matched essientally. I forget the exact numbers.... The only real difference we have between us other than the ESC is he is running an APC, and I am using a Falcon. I personally noticed a difference when I switched over a few years ago with pull and braking, however I am thinking the only thing it could be with both planes taching the same, is the prop. I have a strong belief APC's that large are very soft towards the tips, and have a tendency to de-pitch at higher RPMs.  This is the only thing I can think of to try next.... We are also using the same brand flight packs. Thoughts ?? Ideas ??
