Both Oct and our D-3 Championships have only been pulling 15 or so Total contestants from the past years :(. Just seems like the consensus is, the season over when the NATs is over, when only 8-10 folks from our district attends that particular event. Think I'll plan to attend the 2018 NATs, and it'll be my first since 1981 :). This year the wife and I are planning to travel for 3-4 months about that time of the Summer till Fall, so I'll get to visit a lot of the other districts in this Great US.
I found it amazing the Crowley event is now getting almost as well attended as the NATs, or at least pulling close to 50% attendance from our Muncie National Event, 53 I think in 2016. Know it takes time to build attendance numbers like that, so maybe we can use those guys event as a model to follow!!! Our numbers are, and will stay on the decline unless WE, as a group try to promote the stuff and encourage the teaching of new comers to our Intrest. Lucky for me we have 6-7 folks just in my club of 53 dabbling, and starting to attend contest now, so that's a start. Heck, us guys are aging, and a transfusion of new blood is well over due, JMO.
