[NSRCA-dist1] Pattern Airplanes for sale - only 2 are left

Glad you made that decision Ed. Some things can’t be replaced. You may
remember that was the same time that my girlfriend Kathy passed away due to
her illness (November 11, 2006). Because of that I had VERY little time to
contribute to Tech Aero so it became a one-man show.

But some good stuff still happened: I won the D1 402 champion award
(unfortunately Kathy wasn’t there to see me accept the award at the WRAM
show) and Dave, Joe and I had a REALLY good time down in Florida at the
Ocala contest. I built my first 2-meter plane and it weighed less than 10 ½
lbs. with an OS 160 in it (the red Black Magic V2.2) when it went on the
scale in Muncie in 2008.

I still have the Focus 1 that I bought from Ed (my first 2-meter). I’ll keep
it until the airplane Gods decide to take it back. J

BTW – As far as I know, the Flex Reg is STILL the only regulator that allows
you to fine-tune the output levels so that 2 can be used PROPERLY in a
redundant / dual-battery setup.

Hey guys, I just made a decision to keep the last Prestige. I just got to
thinking while I was working on some regulator orders tonight, that if not
for having purchased two Wistmodel Prestige ARFS 10 years ago, I might have
never started up Tech-Aero Designs. The Prestige purchase figured
prominently into the start of Tech-Aero, since it was a big investment for
me at the time and I wanted a redundant power system that would perform the
way I wanted it to to protect my investment. Since my good friend Dave
Lockhart was making the same exact air frame investment at that time, we
began discussing the best way forward, as we often do. I remember emailing
Dave back & forth about what the heck was out there that might be suitable,
and we both quickly concluded that it didn't yet exist.

That was the start of it. I designed the FlexReg circuit, bench tested it,
then teamed up with John Pavlick to build 30 some-odd units at his place in
CT for John, myself, Dave, Rick Wallace, Joe Zeigenfus, and I'm sorry, I
don't remember exactly who else. That led to announcing the start of
Tech-Aero Designs on Nov 4, 2006, more or less marking for me the official
decline of the hobby of RC as it became more and more of a business over the
past 10 years. But that's how it goes. It wasn't a bad move, just a good
change.

So I've decided to keep that last Prestige. There's no way to ever replace
it. I'll give it a well deserved final upgrade to E-Power and keep it
flying for whenever the mood strikes. I'll take good care of it Sal. You
can fly it any time you want to.

Thanks for everything guys, it's really been great since I've started flying
with you all in 2004 and I look forward to many more years of the same.

Ed
