Yeah I heard correctly then. I didn't realize that you guys practiced in
Connecticut. I'll try to catch up with you this season. That's too bad about
Hadley. It was a nice field and an even nicer bunch of people. I hate when
things change. L

Dave Lampron Sr here, and yes the boys went on to fly imac but still fly
there pattern planes quite well. We go to Wintinbury flying field in Ct. to
practice and usually bring along a pattern plane or 2 to have fun with.
Hadley seems to be restricted for pattern due to the 400' rule with a full
scale airport close by.

They used to have a Pattern Primer at the field in Hadley, MA a few years
ago. That was actually MY first Pattern contest! There used to be quite a
few talented Pattern pilots in your area: I know Scott Smith, Dave W. and
John T. are still around. I think the Lamprons went on to fly IMAC and I
know Dan took up scuba diving. L

Hi Ken, nice to hear from you! Say, have you been in contact with any of
the D1 pattern pilots that may be closest to you, in MA or otherwise? Dana

I'm a rank newbie but every much am enjoying pattern and then one contest I
went to this last season.
I'd really like an event or even organized primer session close enough to
not have to drive four hours and do an overnight. I can't see me getting to
more than a few contests days a year but it sure would be nice to hit one
within an hour or two drive.
My guess is there just hasn't enough interest in pattern in any of the clubs
in New England for a club to give up their field for a day to host. But
maybe there's hope for 2015.
