I was actually looking for something that could measure any plane without on board devices. I seem to remember a club member some time ago that had something that worked.

The Futaba SBS-02G sensor will measure distance and report back to your 18mz and you can set it up so that it announces over the speaker how far out you are flying. Don't know of anything that sends telemetry back to a handheld device other than the transmitter. There are also data logging devices but you have to wait until done flying and typically upload to Google Earth.
I have a SBS-02G you are welcome to borrow anytime.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Certification for judging
I can’t seem to get the test to work, keeps randomly jumping from 1of 40 to maybe 28 of 40, then back to 1 of 40. Scoring shows like 39 for ama and 37 for Fai tried logging out, closing out of page, starting over. Same result, when I register for the certification it goes nowhere. Somehow I need to 0 it out, any thoughts?--
Cliff
