This is a good, well-informed read on the topic:

Considerations for risks related to that trip you’re planning: how bad would it be if you got stuck where you are going for 3 to 6 weeks? How bad would it be to be isolated at home for 2-3 weeks upon your return? Do you have direct contact with people who are over 70 and/or have lung conditions? If those seem really bad to you, rethink your trip, especially if it is to a location where there are confirmed cases.

8. I do want to remind everyone that when public health works, the result is the least newsworthy thing ever: nothing happens. If this all fizzles out and you start feeling like ‘Wah, all that fuss for nothing??’ Then send a thank-you note to your local department of public health for a job well done. Fingers crossed for that outcome.

>From my company’s perspective (Intuit) we’re taking no risks. Major travel restrictions for employees, everyone who can do their job from home is now required to do so beginning Monday, we created new sick leave policy to ensure that anyone sick or caring for someone sick or caring for a child whose school has closed isn’t burning paid time off.
There’s hype, but, when you look at the real scientific data, there’s very good reason for concern . The replication rate on this (2.5) is far worse than most flu (1.2) and worse than the Spanish flu (1.8) of 1918. The way you manage something like this is by putting control measures in place early (minimize large gatherings of people, etc) to shrink the peak infection level. It extends the lifespan of the concern, but reduces the peak # of infected significantly thereby making medical response for those who need it much more effective.

When is the show?
This is going to get worse before it gets better
We are attendees at a show end march and exhibitors at a show end April
I am guessing that the April show will get cancelled-just a guess
You may have seen south by south west was cancelled

Guys
How many of you would reconsider and cancel your plans of going to the Toledo RC show based on the Coronavirus scare?
Also if you thought the show would be compromised due to the attendance being reduced?
I'm scheduled to have a large display. Mostly with the Gator RC portion of our businesses.
It's on my mind as to what I should do.
I value this lists feedback.
If you were me what would you do?
I'm in for the booth space cost. The added budget to go, setup, pay the help, provide lodging, gas, meals etc etc etc is in the neighborhood of an added $4000.
So cut my losses or go and expose my crew?
If the Coronavirus hype is valid the greatest risk is to older people. That fits the exact demographic that attends this show.
Will anyone even be there?
I've emailed the show organizers and asked them to consider rescheduling to an open date in the fall. So far its a firm "the show goes on".
I respect their position. But I have to make up my mind.
Opinions welcome.
Thanks Mike Mueller
