NSRCA should support it. I am going. I would encourage everyone to go. Covid is not going away. We need to learn to live with it. Don’t let it control us. We will be spread out, it will be hot, covid does not like that. Just be careful, don’t make out with your caller or his wife. You will be ok.

I can say this and this is not official..... AMA has decided to allow any group to have their NATS. As NSRCA has elected to not participate in the NATS, the NSRCA, as a SIG, is not involved with the NATS. To be clear, there is a BoD meeting tonight. I'm sure all of this will be discussed. I've been told that Tim Jesky has stepped up and said he will take care of it with Monte. That's what I was told this morning but I'd give it a night and let's see if the BoD has an official stance after the meeting. Again, this is not official and only what I've been told.

Takeoff is optional. Landing is mandatory!

This is so bizarre. Who's doing the work and organization? Monte and a few friends? The NSRCA's decision has nothing to do with it then? Will this be a team trial event? Would appreciate some official communication.

I'm in conversation with Monte, there WILL be a pattern NATS, it would appear. But definitely scaled back with a much smaller expected attendance. I expect it will mostly be F3A and Masters pilots.

So below I have pasted the word from AMA today. They say it is NOT cancelled, but also take place to the extent the individual organizers plan and conduct. By this I infer that pattern is cancelled. Can I get a confirmation please?
Thanks, Dan
After careful deliberation, the AMA Executive Council has agreed to not cancel the 2020 Outdoor Nats. This decision is aligned with state and federal guidelines for events concerning COVID-19.
The 2020 AMA Nats will take place to the extent that individual Nats organizers plan and conduct their respective events. Additional safety measures will be in place to protect our members, staff, and community. Nats participants and visitors to the International Aeromdeling Center will have limited access to AMA facilities and should anticipate a scaled-back Nats experience.
