I’ve had pretty good luck ordering from RC Japan. The prices are 25% off retail, stuff usually arrives within one week.

Futaba is doing their own importing and distributing, as well as repair from here in Huntsville, AL. Word is they will make available everything Futaba makes with exception of some country specific radios not legal in US.

They are right across the street from a major intermodal center here with containers, air freight, trucking, and rail, so once containers arrive, things don't take long to get in Futabas hands. Steve Helms, who older pattern flyers remember, represented the hobby side here for years until a couple of years before his death. Obviously, with Futaba taking over their own distributing and repair, the hobby side has gotten much bigger. And no, I have no "ins" or connections there!

Since Hobbico folded and Horizon now "owns" them, Futaba elected not to extend/renew the contract to Horizon thus allowing them to sell to whichever distributor(s) that they want. It may be in limbo right now as to who's doing what, when and where or Futaba may just be going out on their own. Time will tell.
