Yep...Everyone learns at their own pace. It comes easy for some and not so much for others.

I guess it's just another skill to learn as we move up.

Negative snaps are always slightly more difficult to get the timing right and to do consistently than positive ones when you are first learning to do them. Typically you’re a little late on getting out of the elevator on a negative snap. The stick movement never feels as natural on a negative than it does on a positive snap.

Negative snaps to the left are more difficult for me than too the right. Your usually slightly faster at getting in and out of the corners when moving to the outer corners than inner ones. Once you have done a few hundred both ways (right & left) there is not much difference from an inside/outside snap, but it took me longer to get consistent negative snaps than positive ones.

I wonder if its different for someone who right or left handed? I am right handed and my right hand is always slightly quicker than my left and is probably why snaps to the left is more difficult for me than to the right.

This has been my experience with snaps after two seasons flying Masters.  If you fly Intermediate try and get them in your practice routine and you will be a little more comfortable with them when moving to Advanced and Masters.

In my experience, and that of my Master's Class buddy Bill, negative snaps are different and more difficult to get right.
Not sure why, but they are.

I actually very much like the new intermediate sequence particularly because it adds 4 point roll elements, which helps to bridge the difficulty gap between intermediate and advanced.

Quite frankly, from a snap roll perspective, I'm not sure how negative and positive are different other than which corners I need to bury my sticks into...

There hasn't been much said about the proposed Advanced schedule. It appears to me to be an improvement and more appropriate skill level schedule than the current one with one exception.
We rarely hear from existing Intermediate pilots on Advanced schedule proposals. I suspect that's mostly because they have no experience yet in the skills they'll have to gain once they move up. Those of us who have taken that step need to consider what they're facing.
So if I'm an Intermediate pilot moving up to Advanced, I'm going to have to learn, having never done them before, the slow roll, 4-point roll, snap, and spin. I'd argue that this is the single hardest transition in pattern.
Now we're going to throw a negative snap in for good measure?????
COME ON, MAN!!!!
