[NSRCA-discussion] Proposed Advanced

Just like inverted entries and exits, it’s less natural to push, and therefore more difficult and uncomfortable for an inexperienced flyer. Once you are comfortable, then they are equal in difficulty. The main issue is that an under or over snap will leave you in an unusual, but mostly inverted orientation, which is more precarious for the less experienced since the natural instinct will be to “pull”.

In my experience, and that of my Master's Class buddy Bill, negative snaps are different and more difficult to get right.

Not sure why, but they are.

I actually very much like the new intermediate sequence particularly because it adds 4 point roll elements, which helps to bridge the difficulty gap between intermediate and advanced.

Quite frankly, from a snap roll perspective, I'm not sure how negative and positive are different other than which corners I need to bury my sticks into...

There hasn't been much said about the proposed Advanced schedule. It appears to me to be an improvement and more appropriate skill level schedule than the current one with one exception.
We rarely hear from existing Intermediate pilots on Advanced schedule proposals. I suspect that's mostly because they have no experience yet in the skills they'll have to gain once they move up. Those of us who have taken that step need to consider what they're facing.
So if I'm an Intermediate pilot moving up to Advanced, I'm going to have to learn, having never done them before, the slow roll, 4-point roll, snap, and spin. I'd argue that this is the single hardest transition in pattern.
Now we're going to throw a negative snap in for good measure?????
COME ON, MAN!!!!
