FWIW -
This past weekend, Dad and I flew with a friend who had not flown much RC in the past 5 years.  He brought out his Focus and a couple sport planes.  The last time he actively flew, he was a solid Advanced pilot.
His impression of the new Advanced was that it very much looked like a Masters schedule.  And Masters looked like FAI with way too much IMAC influence.  And FAI was overly complex and lacked smoothness / symmetry.....impressive airplane performance, but not impressive schedules.

Dave

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] 2016-2017 Advanced and Masters Sequences

Good Morning,
We just wanted to let you know that the proposed 2016-2017 Advanced and Masters sequences have been voted on and approved as submitted by the Sequence Development Committee.  The sequences passed unanimously by your Board of Directors.  We will have them shown on the website as official soon.  The Sequence Committee will be working on the Aresti and have them available soon as well.
In the BoD meeting, it was brought up as to why the committee chose to remove the option in Masters of 1/2 rolls on the Top Hat and make it a forced cross-box maneuver.  The committee felt (and I believe but not positive that it's in the Sequence Development Guide) that the sequence should have a forced cross-box maneuver.  Since the Humpty has options, it is not forced and why the option was taken out of the Top Hat.
Anyways, the purpose of this email is purely informational and not meant to start a discussion on the why's.  The good news is that the sequences are approved.  Good luck to all!
Best Regards,Scott McHarg
