[NSRCA-discussion] How to safely arm/disarm your motor packs?

I use a set of 4mm plugs on a wire that is external to the plane. My positive wire just exits the side of the plane with some rubber gromets protecting the wall.
I really cringe at the idea of not having a visible external disconnect...

Most planes today that we use for electrics are built lighter and can afford the grams of extra weight and still be comfortably under the limit. Yes, you can program the radio to not arm with a switch or throttle but nothing is as sure as a mechanical break in the circuit.

That seems unsafe to me to have the batteries connected to the motor without an external physical circuit breaker but I'm probably overlooking some capability that can be set up using a Futaba 14MZ. With the advanced planes that are a little awkward to a carry around armed and where the hatch has to be screwed into the fuse for extra canalyzer security it seems like an accident waiting to happen this way.
