[NSRCA-discussion] FAA Registration begins December 21

I like John Ford’s approach to registration compliance, I may go this route myself.

If we think about it, our AMA membership info is already out there: when we are at our club airfields, in our club’s (generally unsecured) membership records, on RC forums even; if someone wants to “borrow” one of our identities to stick an AMA member name & number in their drone for whatever reasons, they can do so today. What we have seen anecdotally is that the bad actors generally are not giving much thought to what they are doing with their drones, or how they go about doing it.  Sure in the future some of the baddest actors may go to great lengths to do so by making use of one of our good names, but registered or not, they can just use your good name today as an AMA member.  The burden of proof will be on others to make the frame stick; the more I write this, the more far-fetched it seems that one of us would be implicated this way.  We have much bigger problems to solve that are closer at hand.  Time to keep under the collective radar so that those who misuse their aircraft stand in stark contrast to our collective good example?
