Not really, entering the TS program / event doesn’t affect the Nats entry. Participants in the TS must also enter F3A at the Nats.
AMA has a point system to determine their level of team funding, which is defined in the “Blue Book” http://www.modelaircraft.org/events/teaminfo.aspx . The number for full funding has been raised from 50 to 75 points. Typically our team’s excellent finishes in the WC has met the previous 50 point requirement. However, 50 points is the maximum attainable via WC results. While we again have 50 in the bank from the WC, we need another 25 for full funding.

If more than a few non-fliers enter the F3A Nats just to give a contribution to the team, it might be wise to ask the question on the registration form. This way the folks that work out the flying matrix won't have to bother with no-shows.....

Will we be able to enter both an AMA class AND F3A?

We get 2 points (3 pts for a junior) for each participant in the team selection finals contest, which is F3A at the 2014 Nats. But yes, everyone is eligible to enter regardless of class but we won’t get points, just your contribution.

Jon,
I’ve got a question. Is everyone eligible to enter regardless of the class your in or whether or not you intend to fly?
Thanks,
Tim

See below. The fees have been lowered this year, and we hope that ALL FAI flyers will enter the trials to help the team out.
Remember, you need to enter both the NATS and the Team Trials.
