[NSRCA-discussion] What is the difference between JST-XH/GP/PQ balance plugs

I’ve never used balance boards with my cell pro’s. I have dedicated cables for my 3s, 4s, and 5s packs. I have boards in case I get an odd style pack or need to charge a 2s pack, but for the rest I just use cables. The CellPro connector is also a JST but it’s the PA format. Just go online and get JST-PA 6 cell pigtails and you can make any cable you need. FMA sells them.

You have to use balance boards with CellPro 10s. It has 2 custom connectors that you plug in whatever balance boards you purchase for it. I have 2 of each type for mine.

Mike,
What are the connectors on the Cellpro 10 itself. I prefer to make extensions for the 5S JST-XH rather than fight with the balance boards all the time. I seem to have lost that information.
Thanks,
John

Scott your right Power Unlimited Lipos by F3aUnlimited were mostly PQ. Since I took over I've made a decision to switch our newest packs over to JST/XH. It's the most popular since Hobby King uses this plug. Why fight it.
I think it's like Beta versus VHS in the end even Sony started making VHS and Beta was no more.
The balance boards on cellpro chargers are GP/KO (Works with Hobby King JST/XH) and TP/PQ. Works with polyquest and thunder power. We sell a lot of simple adaptors that allow you to use different balancers.
 Thanks, Mike

They are a resource that seems to cover all balance tap types accept those used by Thunder Power and Flight Power.

IIRC the JST-xh and the PQ are the same spacing and wiring order but the PQ has a locking tab. A JST is the little red one on small foamy packs. TP is much smaller.

Is there a functional difference between these balance plug types?
