[NSRCA-discussion] Castle ESC question - problem solved????

OK, the problem is solved, but not the mystery behind the settings change.....
I have an idle down set that engages the brake on landing and a throttle cut that won't let the motor respond at all until it is disengaged. These are on separate switches. My normal start up sequence is plug in, listen for the proper Castle music, turn off the brake, disengage the throttle cut, spin the motor up, and take off.
I put a normal servo on the throttle, replacing the ESC and tried a couple of different combinations of brake and throttle cut on/off. The throttle cut position was NOT lower than the brake. Also, the brake moved more when toggled between the two positions than I thought it would. I did notice that with brake on though and throttle cut off, the trim was at the lowest position.
I hooked up the ESC again an plugging in the batteries with the normal starting positions (brake on, throttle cut on), the ESC did not arm. I turned off the throttle cut and this time left the brake on. The trim went to the lowest position and the ESC armed. I was able to spin th motor. The throttle cut did not stop the motor if it was already spinning, although throttle did not respond. With the brake switch off, the idle was quite high. This was not the way things were at the end of the last season. I lowered the % throw for the brake and throttle cut until I got the settings where I wanted them to be and all is back to "normal" now, including my start up sequence. The mystery is, why did it change in the first place?
The only difference between this season and last season was I replaced the airplanes battery system with a redundant one and replaced the NiMh battery in the TX with a LiPo.
Thoughts?

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Castle ESC question. I brought my airplane out of its winter hibernation today and simply went to test the airplane with some new batteries. I have not changed any ESC or radio settings since the end of the last season. When I released the throttle cut/safety switch and went to spin the motor, nothing happened. In more detail: I plugged in ESC and got the normal spark. The ESC played the Castle power tune, counted 10 cells, but does not play the arming tune. Setting the throttle to full (with a restrained plane of course) did yield additional beeps, but did not ever spin the motor. I don't see any troubleshooting on the Castle website, hence the post. If I do plug the ESC into the castle link controller to double check settings, does the motor have to be unplugged? I have shrink wrapped the bullets for the motor/ESC connection together and would rather not separate them. I will remove the prop, of course.
