Replace the plug.and put a very small chamfer on the female side of the
plastic housing to keep the spring clip from catching on the housing.

Hey Bobby, good to hear from you! 

Very light blue, azzure if you will... two small grandchildren with
me....... I am happy that it was something as simple as that. That's almost
the same as one of the E guys forgetting the arming plug.

Talking electric, has anyone had a Dean's plug break the little springy tab
on the terminals? Is there a simple fix or do you just replace the plug? On
my OMG, the spingy tab broke right in the middle and the remaining piece
just sticks out, interfering with proper seating of the plug.

You gotta love this stuff. I had the day off yesterday and of course planned
it around a short flying session. I packed Delta up with it's brand new OS
GT33 which has had exactly 5 runs on it so far. After all the rain the last
couple days of vacation, a nice day. Drove the 37 miles to my field, set the
plane up, gassed up, everything looked great...

Tried to get the engine started.....bupkus! The usual technique, choke on,
full throttle, ignition off, rock the spinner back and forth 10 times to
draw gas. Choke off, throttle back to idle, and ignition on, in that
sequence. Flipped the prop smartly through TDC. It always starts with at
most 2 flips. Nothing! Hmmmmm!!!

Used the Dynatron, aka, Old Meat Grinder (OMG, for short), on the spinner,
and still nothing. Nearly depleted the lipos. Changed plugs...nada, not a
pop. Checked the throttle servo set-up, re-adjusting the linkage. Opened up
the chin cowl, retraced all electrical connections, everything seemed fine.
Maybe the IBEC has finally failed me, afterall, it's 4 years old. Removed
the plug and squirted gas in the hole, and finally it popped. Well, it
looked like the ignition was working okay....IBEC has to be
fine.....mayhaps! It may be the OS CDI; but it's brand new.....Very
frustrating since the OS just works. What the hell am I doing that I'm not
supposed to?? Is it something simple or something complex???

Images of OS GT33 #1 danced in my head. At exactly 5 runs, same as the
number of runs on #2, the first 33 developed a cracked backplate and refused
to run, requiring a trip to Hobby Services. It has worked flawlessly
since.....NAH, Can't be...what are the chances of THAT!

But it just wasn't happening with #2...I started to pack up, removed wings
and put them back in their carrying case, cleaned up, and went to
de-gas......You dumbass, you forgot to put the gozinta into the
gozonta....An hour of great flying time wasted. It happens, as Ron said!!

BTW- Ron, when did you take up Golf?

Larry - I'm glad your Monolog survived your cranial flatulence.  We have ALL
done something like that.  To benefit others, maybe we need to write down a
list of all such experiences, like when I didn't hook up the aileron servos
but took off anyway.  My Genesis didn't survive the takeoff.

might be awhile before I repeat it. I flew slower to help give him time and
for me some practice on a slower flight. Bang, it helped. He did a great job
calling !!!!!

I finally landed and thanked him for his assistance and looking forward to
meeting up with him again this weekend at the field.

He left and I set to pack the plane up. I took off the Canopy and removed
the batteries. One by one I removed the wings next, placing each one in it's
appropriate wing bag. What a great day !!!!!

Then I was overwhelmed with an adrenaline rush... What just happened...?
What did I do...? OMG, I didn't just do that...!!!!!!!

I suddenly realized I didn't remove the rubber-bands that held the 2M
Monolog wings on... Why you ask? Because I never put them on before the
flight... I flew it with out the wings being secured. 

Note to self... "Make some kind of  "Remove Before Flight" red ribbon flag
to remind me to put the rubber-bands on the wing restraints..?
