[NSRCA-discussion] Help!!! Lipo recovery advise requested

Don,
Any of the mentioned methods work.
Some chargers don't go below certain mah range. So that is what I do.  Not everyone has multi chemistry chargers although I suggest most of the times.

If the pack has some voltage left over, some fma chargers can revive them. Some lipo chargers don't charge any packs below 3volt.

IMHO, I think the very slow charge to around 3V might be a better approach than 'jump starting' it with another pack.  Reason I say that is the chemical makeup of the 'zero' volt pack is pretty fragile at that point and rapidly charging it might be even further more harmful to the pack.  After the 'zero' pack regains some reasonable level of charge the regenerative charge might be ok.

I have absolutely no expertise in the chemical reactions of our lipo packs, but it just seems logical they are in a very vulnerable state if they are discharged that low.  I have read many threads in the forums about the slow charging method but none about rapidly charging the very low packs.  I have also read many many times about the significant decrease in pack life from over discharging.

if it was my pack I would hook it up in parallel to another same size pack using the voltage equalizer mentioned in Don Atwood and my columns. In a vary open - nonflammable - area.

Mike,
I usually do a low current (about 250mah) parallel charging with another pack that has about 70% charge left over.  I don't connect balance connector. Stop the charger a few times to check the voltage of the low voltage pack.
Bunch of car/truck guys do that especially to 0 volt packs.

I have a brand new test pack that I gave to my best friend aptly named "Puff Daddy" who tests for us. He's a great resource because he beats the living crude out of Lipo's so you can feel assured that your doing well if PD is succesful with them.
We'll PD did himself very proud last week and discharged the 2 packs on the first attempt to 0 voltage. Opps he got distracted.
So how can I get some voltage into the packs so the charger can attempt to recover them? I know it's not going to be a text book operation but I'm willing to roll some dice to see if there is a way. One guy suggested using a nicad charger to pump in some juice.
At this point barring an exposion risk I have little to lose.
 So any suggestions? TIA, Mike
