I believe someone mentioned this already... No scribes are used since the judges have time to look down after each maneuver and write their scores down.

TBL as you mentioned is used for each group of judges... And they judge the same maneuver regardless of flight direction.  If they calibrate their lines correctly then there isn't a problem determining whether someone goes out the box.
