I believe Joseph Somenzini has shown an interest in flying..might not be too
long before Joseph, Joseph, or Luciano (QQs youngest son) are raising havoc
in FAI. J

Amen. We tend to concentrate on who finished on top and not much more.
Joseph Szczur did great and made us and, I'm sure, his parents proud of him.
I remember a Nats at Lake Charles back in the early 1980s, where a young kid
from Argentina showed up and asked permission to put on a flying
demonstration during a break in flying. We were amazed at his talent and
virtuosity. His name was Quique Somenzini.
I hope we've got another Quique here in the U.S.

Agreed.
Another flyer flew in their first WC in South Africa at age 12. This same
flyer went on to win the WC later in his flying career...along with pretty
much everything else. Go Joseph!

I think we all need to congratulate Joseph also. At 13 he put on a heck of a
performance against the best in the world. He's a good kid who has worked
very hard for this. I am sure he will be representing the US for many years
to come. Great Job Joseph! D2 is very proud.

Indeed the rule states one third...I thought it stated 30%. Thanks.

1/3 is 33.3%, not 30%
80*33.3% = 26.64

30% of 80 is 24, are the other 3 juniors?

Top 1/3, so about 27 this year. The rules also say no more than 30, but
that doesn't apply this year.
