In my opinion, the best solution is the TM-14 from futaba. The
programming in the radio gives you all the same features as you are used
to. Anything else will be a) limited to 8 channels and b) remove a lot
of features you may use.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Converting Futaba 12Z to 2.4
Hi all,
I have had bad luck asking question on here, but figured I would try
again. I want to convert my 12Z to 2.4. What are my options? Is there
a conversion that is better than the rest? Will I still get the same
precision? I heard in the past some of the conversions reduced the
steps. Thanks in advance. Please no brand wars. I have the
transmitter and love it. Just want to update it to 2.4.
Paul
