This may be the best long-term solution to allow slightly overweight airplanes to compete within the AMA rules, while maintaining alignment with FAI.
Changing the hard number also works but leaves the door closed to still heavier airplanes unless it is increased enough to be excluded as a limiting factor.

Hi All,
 
Here is a copy of another proposal for consideration by the Contest Board along with the others that have been submitted.
This one does not disqualify a model for not meeting weight limits.  It imposes a score penalty, but still allows the 
model to participate.
