[NSRCA-discussion] Arming Switch

I don't tune in often any more and I cannot remember when the last time 
was that I actually worked at the Nat's BUT:
When electric was still a novelty Marty Matthews wife was carrying in 
his plane and he turned off the transmitter. It was a non-event because 
she was on the ball and had a good grip on the plane when it went to 
full throttle. I commented at the time "We need to fix that before some 
one gets hurt bad".

I have always felt all that would be necessary would be to require that 
the pilot be prepared to demonstrate that turning off the transmitter 
resulted in a motor shut down.  At the Nat's the line chief could check 
it as frequent as he felt it possible without impacting the general 
operation.

I am not aware of any ESC failures that result in running failures. My 
ESC's usual fail mode results in smoke & fire.
