[NSRCA-discussion] HEF and F3P

My first HEF (Holiday Electric Fly) was amazing.
Overall it was a lot of fun.
The facility was great!
Musical Chairs with airplanes was a riot.
Watching two huge B 17s or a B 36 fly indoors was hard to believe.
Seeing 20 or maybe 30+ airplanes in the air at the same time was a sight to
behold.
Oh! Yes, Santa was there as well.

The best, however, was F3P!
Deep gratitude goes to Devin M. RJ G. and Dave L!
They seemed to be the “power” behind the contest.
I apologize if I left any one out because there were a lot of hands making
things work.

AMA President, Bob Brown, was a real fan of the F3P and spent much of his day
just watching and doing a little coaching as well. Bob also passed out the
beautiful awards made by RJ himself! F3P and NSRCA have a great friend at AMA in
Bob Brown along with Dave Mathewson, and several DVPs, like Mark Radcliff and
Tim Jesky, just to name a few who were at HEF 2012.

I came with my little E-Flight Extra 300 3D.
It could almost do the Sportsman sequence, but…
After my first “flight” I was offered 4 F3P airplanes from other competitors!
On Sunday I flew Jeff H’s “heavy” F3P airplane. It was about 5 oz.
Then I flew Mike H’s 3+ oz. F3P airplane.
I was amazed!

Thanks to everyone who made my weekend so inspirational!

Jim Quinn

PS: If you missed HEF 2012, be sure to put it on your calendar for 2013.
PPS: Next year I am anticipating Karen L to be flying along with the rest of us.
