 Ihncheol,

Here's a link
http://nsrca.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=90:fieldlayout&
catid=61:field&Itemid=98 to how to build a protractor for painting lines...I
built one of these a few years back, works great!

Here's an extract from the AMA Competition Guide, page 7, item 14 about
where the judges should be positioned...

The judges shall be seated not more than 10 meters behind the
pilot's position (the apex of the 60 degree lines) and within an area
described by the extension of the 60 degree lines to the rear of the
pilot.

...10 meters is 33 feet, personal experience has shown it's a good practice
to have the judges positioned a minimum of 15ft from the box apex if you
have the space. Any closer than that their view could be blocked by a
competitor/caller who are near 6" or so...I have not been able to locate
verbiage indicating a minimum distance for judges either in the AMA rules or
the FAI sporting code. If someone has that please share, I'm curious to
know that parameter for contests I attend and the one I manage myself.

Regards,

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] runway preparation for contest

Does anyone know the link to PDF file showing the diagram about lines,
landing zone, etc for runway preparation?
How far does the flight lines have to be distanced?

I can't seem to find the old rule book showing the diagram. It showed how
far the judges have to be from pilot also.

Thanks,

Ihncheol
