Actually,  I think a better approach if you were going to try this would be to use the side buttons and simply click 1/2 pt downgrades and enter.    So you'd truly NEVER have to look away from the plane.  1/2 pt granularity would require you to wait until you saw a full half point of infraction before clicking but it would be pretty easy to click off points here and there as you went along.  It would also align better with our judging guidlines to truly be judging downgrades, rather than assigning a final score to each manuever.

Exactly. With 12 finger size buttons and an 'enter'.  0-10 and a .5 button.  Very quick and hitting enter finalizes. Enter with no score button is Not Observed and then at the end you review the scoresheet, make any corrections you want and hit enter one more time.  Arresti at the bottom for reference.
