?
Carbon is just too firm?for this application. The nylon plugs inside the tube will rub against the carbon surface (vibration) and abrade it.? Carbon dust? is electrically conductive?and once inside the plug may short the wiring and it doesn't take much.
?

I just called Don's and those conduits are not avialable "the factory burned 
 
down".  So he suggested that we roll newspaper up and tape it. 
 
I still like my tampon tubes ;)
