Ron,
I also have an 8 channel 2.4 GHz module on my 9ZAP transmitter and a R617
receiver and it works perfectly after setting it up per the instructions
that came with the 2.4 GHz TX & RX combo.
1. Suggest with power off to the TX, place the TX module switch to 8 channel
and then back to 7 channel. Also make certain that the "Regional" switch on
the Tx module is in the "General" position.
2. Then turn the power on to the TX. There are two LEDS on the back of the
TX module, one is red and the other is green. When the TX power is turned
"on" both LEDS are off for a second, then both of the LEDS should be
illuminated at the same time (red and green) for maybe a second, then
alternately flash red and green for another second, and after that only the
green LED will continually flash.
What does the RX LED do? Is should be flashing red which means it sees the
TX 2.4 GHz signal being transmitted from the TX. Once the receiver binding
switch is pushed and held for a couple of seconds and then let go the RX LED
should change to solid green continually. At this time the RX is binded to
the TX.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Help Needed
Houston Schweitzer has a Futaba 9ZAP transmitter with a Futaba 8-
channel 2.4 GHz module in it. He wants to use it with a Futaba R617
receiver, so he put the switch on the module in the 7-channel
position and made sure that the parameter setting was PPM in the
transmitter's model programming, but the transmitter/receiver system
doesn't work. Any ideas?
