Just got a note back from Rich Hansen, who is our AMA Governmental Affairs
Rep. Here is the scoop on the NOTAM/TFR's...
Hi Tony,

As long as a member has their current email address on file with their AMA
membership they'll receive an email any time a TFR is issued for their area.
Greg Minch and Greg Hahn have an algorithm set up that scrapes the
membership roster for the members and clubs in the affected area.

If the member wants AMA alerts on all TFRs affecting MA, they can go to
http://twitter.com/amagov and sign up to "follow" this sight. Alerts will be
posted to this sight and sent via SMS to their cell phone if he/she so
desires.

Hope this helps,

Rich Hanson

So, every AMA member that has a good e-mail address on file with AMA gets
the notification via e-mail automatically. You would only have to sign up
to get ALL alerts.

I thought there was a sign up right on the page, but I can't find it either.
I have sent an e-mail to find out how it is done.

Matt,

I think the original message was intended as information that might have had

a impact on the classic pattern event in Chicago this weekend... then it
spun out of control. I have also looked for the NOTAM sign up on the page
Tony listed and have not found it either.

Good luck to those flying at Chicago this weekend.. looking like I'm not
going to make it.. But there will be several from the CPA there.
