[NSRCA-discussion] Condition in 9ZAP

For anyone else still using the 9Z who may come across the problem of trims changing when switching between conditions, here's how I finally resolved the issue. First thing was to go into the Trim menu and for each control surface and throttle, I placed the trim function in the independent mode such that the application of trim while operating in one condition would not apply to any other condition. Then, while in the "default" or normal flying condition, I set the trims for all surfaces and throttle to zero and stored that setting into trim memory. I then switched to flight condition 1, set the trims for all surfaces and throttle to zero, and stored those settings into memory. At that point, I placed the trim function back into the mode where the application of trim while in one mode would apply to all modes in existence for the model. Once all that was done, the trim no longer changed when switching from one condition to another.

The 9ZAP did not carry over your trim or sub-trim settings, if I remember correctly, when you copied conditions. You had to manually go into each condition and change the trim/sub-trim settings to match the default condition.

This evening, I activated an unused condition and assigned it to a switch in my 9ZAP. I then copied the default condition into the newly activated condition. However, when I throw the switch back and forth between the default and the newly established condition, my rudder and both aileron servos move off center a bit. Is there something in the programming for the default condition that isn't carried over to the new condition during the copy function....trims, subtrims, other? I've reaccomplished this several times and the result is always the same. Has anyone else come across this problem? Thanks.

I've been corresponding with Monica (Karl's daughter) and
I'm happy to report that he is on the mend. His
eyesight is improving, doctors are granting him day passes
out of the hospital and he is back on the NSRCA list.
Apparently Karl even BBQ'd dinner when he was home last
Sunday - quite an impressive improvement!
To make it easier to access his e-mail, Karl has a new
address with Gmail:

Please update your address books. Karl's access to
e-mail is intermittent in the hospital, but feel free to
drop him a line.
Welcome back Karl :)
