[NSRCA-discussion] Winter break

Hang out with a bunch of pattern fliers for a week. I'm up for that.
My wife and I would like a week or so in mid winter where it's warm but I'm
not a tourist and need something to do. The new F-150 is quite comfortable
with XM radio and has plenty of room for luggage and toys. My schedule is
flexible and Phoenix is an easy two day drive (about 1500 mi), unless I'm in
a snow storm half way. The only way out of the northwest without driving
through mountains is unacceptable.
How far will another day get me?

FIJI. But forget the planes..lol

Seriously, I think there are more than a few of us that would be up for the
same type of trip. Maybe we need a Pattern Practice vacation that more than
a few could attend? Not sure who's field would be open to the invasion
though.

I have an off the wall question for the list.
I'm not a winter weather person. That being said I probably
couldn't live in a worst place but you have to go where the job is.
When we lived in Lincoln it wasn't so bad since there was so much to do
there.
Since moving to Iowa 5 years ago it's been a different story.
OK...enough of John's pity party.
I've come up with an idea. I'm thinking about, starting next winter, going
south
for 5 - 7 days. Somewhere I can get a week long membership in a club, hole
up
in a Motel 6 and fly for a week... Something to look forward to the first
half of winter
then something to last me until spring.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where?
Thanks!
JLK
