Adrian,

As most of you know, most of us down here 'mix' our own fuel using the ingredients. We are able to purchase the Coolpower oils on their own. I also use the VP Racing nitro. I'm not sure anymore, but I believe that even that is now Chinese nitro, as there are no more Nitro factories open in the U.S??? Anyone know?

I personally have had better results using the higher viscosity oil (Blue in colour).
Yes-you may loose a little bit of top end power, (I cant really prove it however) but for me and my conditions, the engine seems happier. It runs 'fluffier' and sounds smoother in the air. It just doesn't seem as 'angry' if that makes sense. But, I do have a bit of oil (more) on the fuse after. I can hear the electric boys groan already!

As for the pre-mix that you are talking about, I can't say, as I do not know if there are any other 'secret' ingredients added to it. I personally don't use it, unless I am at a comp overseas....and that was a while ago now!

Why don't you just try it and see how you go. I just like mixing fuel myself-that way I control exactly what is going in there. You can also adjust things a little to suit. If you are asked," how much Nitro?" I usually answer "10% more than you!" L.O.L

I have been using Coolpower 30% nitro/ 22% low vis oil heli fuel for over 6 years with good results. However, I would like to try their 20% nitro heli fuel.

Instead of low vis oil, the 20% nitro blend uses 20% ultra-high vis oil, similar to the 30% heli low smoke fuel.

Has anyone try the 20% blend on both the regular & the cdi 170? Any difference besides lower top end? Does the ultra-high vis oil makes the engine runs warmer? Do I need to richen the pump slightly?
