Ron,
You can lose 175 grams approximately by switching to the TP 5000, or the 5300's.
Switch to carbon gear, carbon prop, carbon spinner, lighter wheels, and not trying to push my brand, but the Airtronics ele servos I use, and also the aileron servos I use will save you also. Granted all this stuff will cost you a lot of money (which starts the conversation again about light things costing more than heavy things, lol.. )
I can go into more detail on what you could save, but I'm tired and have to go to bed. Email me if you want more info. I could detail the weights for you.
Chris

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Help Me Loose Weight
I’m in the process of glassing and painting a Focus II. Why because this was my first attempt at glassing and painting and I thought this would be a good test bed. This will also be my first electric pattern plane. I knew going in that making weight would be extra hard in my case. If I don’t make weight I won’t be crushed but I want to give it my best shot. The following weights are mostly estimates and I haven’t settled on any of the equipment listed so I’m still open for suggestions. I will be flying intermediate and advanced next year.
Fuse 1453 g
Left Wing 469
Right Wing 445
Canopy 185
Cowl 135
Elevator Servos(2) 54
Rudder Servo 50
Aileron Servos(2) 100
Receiver 22
JR Std. Switch 22
Pletty 567
HV85 120
Receiver Bat 49
Main Bat 1344
Wheels 35
Std. Glass Gear 158
Carbon Wing Tube 47
Tru Turn Aluminum Spinner 72
Misc. ????
Total +5327g (11.74 lbs)
Thanks Ron
