I would also recommend Don's DVD for painted wings. It is a step by step
manual including painting. Very clear instructions with up close videos of
techniques.

Jim,
It's not quite the article you're looking for, but Don Ramsey has an
excellent DVD on applying a lightweight painted finish to wings. I vaguely
remember the Speights article and I think Don's methods are similar, if not
identical. They involve lightweight 3/4 oz (or less) glass cloth and
thinned
epoxy. I can't imagine a lighter method for a painted wing. If that's what
you have in mind, I'd suggest you pick up a copy of Don's DVD. I think
they're available on his Barnstormer web site.
Hope this helps

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Looking for a how-to article
Help, here is a memory check for you long time members.
Quite some years ago Roy Speights wrote an article on how to apply a
lightweight painted finish to wings. I would like a copy of the article but
don't know where to start looking. It may have been in the K-Factor during
his vice presidency in 1989 & 90 but I no longer have those issues.
Thanks
Jim
