Bob,
I fly IMAC with other three good friends. Actually I am the only pattern pilot in the club. Probably the main reason why I fly IMAC . We practice together and comment on downgrades. We really don't see many differences and I see judging in this region been very close to pattern.

Early on I tried both IMAC and Precision Aerobatics. I got turned off of IMAC when at a contest I questioned why my scores were so low on a simple 1/2 reverse Cuban 8 turnaround. The response was my line was too steep. When I commented that the maneuver is defined as a 45 degree line, they replied "we don't do them that way".
