Subject: RE: 2.4G requirements for the Nats in 2010 or
2011?

Lance,

2.4
is already a requirement in all other disciplines except sailplanes, and that
exception is only until they solve a technical issue with the all carbon fiber
fuselages. AMA considers it a safety issue and requested that we go 2.4 at the
2010 Nats at the Planning Meeting. I petitioned the NSRCA Board and the decision
was made to require 2.4 in Masters and F3A for 2010 as 90% of the pilots in 2009
were already there. It will not be required in Intermediate and Advanced until
2011. The requirement will be on the 2010 Nats entry form and I will announce it
in my Nats invitation in the January K-factor.

I'm
sure someone is unhappy, but after they think it
through they will agree it makes sense and everyone’s equipment will be safer
for it.

Regards
Dave
