[NSRCA-discussion] Rust on OS1.60 Crank

What's the best way to clean rust off the crank of an engine, or is it
even necessary? I have an OS 1.60 that has very low run time (less than
2 gallons), but had been sitting for a while. I pulled the bearings out
as the main looked/felt as if it could use a change. At the same time, I
noticed a fair amount of rust on the crank, specifically in front of the
con-rod pin opposite the counter-balance. Should this be cleaned off,
and if so, what's the best way to go about it? I've switched bearings
before and there is always some rust, but this seems to be more than I'd
expect.

Thanks,

Timothy Pascoe
