[NSRCA-discussion] Program for generating Aresti Sequences

Verne,

I understand how the process works, but I'm looking for what is used to
generate the Aresti printouts that is given to each pilot.

I'm looking for something that I can do on the computer, rather than hand
draw the sequences and then scan them. I did about 20 in 2007, and that was
a lot of work to pick the stuff out and then hand draw the Aresti. Well time
consuming, I should say. If there was a program that I could use that had
the Aresti drawings of the maneuvers to make the call sheets; that would be
handy. Seeing as how the sequence is put on paper before the Unknowns
meeting is over, then that means there is some program, or at least a
library of drawings somewhere.

Ryan,

There is no program. The finalists all go into a room with the FAI rulebook
and take turns picking maneuvers. The closest thing to a program is the guy
who records what they pick. There's a catalog of unknown maneuvers in the
sporting code along with the rules that must be followed putting an unknown
together. It's not too bad once you've done a few. A stick plane helps.

Hello all,

Can anyone point me in the direction of the program that is used at the Nats
(and presumably the Worlds) for generating the FAI unknowns? Would I have
better luck querying FAI?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards,

Ryan Smith
