[NSRCA-discussion] Trottle cut, knife edge mix on Futaba 7 ch

It has been a very long time since I used this radio. I used it when I first got into pattern for a year or two and then upgraded to the Super 8 because of limits like this. I do vaguely recall trying to set it up for rudder to aileron mixing with 2 aileron servos and facing this problem. I think the answer was you needed to use both mixes. Which kinda stinks if you also want a mix for elevator or something else. You said you were using flaperon to get the 2 servos, try using DIFF (differential aileron) instead. But I'm kinda doubtful that will help.

As for the throttle cut, I never tried to do that on a switch because the 7UA's has all manual trims. I just set up my throttle linkage so that full down would turn off the engine. I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do with throttle cut. If
you are looking for having it in flight full down stick is still motor
turning slowly and on the ground you can go to motor full off you might be able to do that with trim. You might need to set the ATV on throttle to your particular speed controller so that at full down stick and full up throttle trim the speed controller will not arm. But will arm at full down trim.

If you are looking for a safety such that motor is off no matter what the stick setting is, I doubt that the 7UA/7UAS programmable mixing it able to do that.

I'm guessing you already tried mixing throttle into throttle? You could possibly set up a mix that would prevent the ESC from arming when the mix was on by mixing the throttle such that it never goes low enough to arm the ESC. The mix would have to be off to arm the ESC. However, once armed, the ESC could not be disarmed.

I think that would be a nice function for ESC manufacturers to add, the ability to disarm the ESC, possibly with another channel or possibly with the throttle setting well below where it arms.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Trottle cut, knife edge mix on Futaba 7 ch

Hi,

I am helping a friend setting up is plane and I can't found how to create a mix to cut the trottle (for electric). The radio is a 7UA or something like that.

Also, the aileron have 2 servos, the flaperon function is activated but when we program a mix Rudder to Aileron, only one aileron moves. How come ? Do we need 2 mixes ?

Thanks in advance

Xavier
