It's doable! I'd recommend 2100 capacity NiMH cells; the pack I purchased
from Batteries America just barely fits the box in my 9WC2.

BlankMy 9Z transmitter battery is in need of replacement.

Would there be a problem replacing the batteries inside the plastic case
with a matched pack sold at the local hobby store and soldered to the
connector?

Any other suggestions?
