Glen

Mr. Pavlick is correct about being able to check your plane at the Nats. Courtesy checks have always been available and corrections could be made during the days of the event.

However, I would like to offer the following suggestion : Do everything you possibly can to make sure your plane and equipment is ready when you unload it at Muncie. The reason being that you will be new to the Nats experience and you don't need any extra distractions to take away from it.

Check your plane and get it ready before you leave home. In the months before the nats, practice and keep your plane in good repair. If it is overweight, take care to remove weight from the proper places making sure you keep it balanced and trimmed. The Nats can get a little hectic, especially for a first timer and is no place to add the extra pressure of having problems or going on a weight loss program. You will be making new friends and learning new things to the point that you don't want to waste time working on your plane. Not having to worry with your plane will greatly enhance your Nats experience. You will have much more fun if you are 100% prepared before you get there.

No but just make sure your plane weighs about 10lbs, 8oz. on a reasonably accurate scale. You'll be fine. LOL Seriously, it's not something to be too concerned about. You can weigh your plane right at the NATs before competition / practice starts. If you need to make any adjustments, you'll have plenty of time to do so.
