I also have been using the 8611 on rudder. It works really well.

I started using an 8611A after I noticed that the 8411A would go into oscillation because of the tension on the PP wires.
Supposedly, the center dead band was set too tight for a rudder application and I believe it was Troy that pointed out the 8611A was the way to go for this application.
Apparently it has a slightly wider dead band that fixes this problem
..more power too
Thanks Troy
..
I havent had any more problems
.well, with the rudder anyways
.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] 8611 on rudder
I'm interested in feedback from those who are using the 8611 or 8611A on a 2M rudder. Is that extra torque as compared to an 8411 class servo really buying you anything? I'm always reluctant to go to a metal gear servo, although the 8611 is pretty low on slop as MG servos go.
Thanks
Ed
