I'll add my experience.  I have been up thru the various purpose built JR/Spektrum 2.4gHz systems.

>From the DX-7 to the X9303 and finally the 12X.  I have also used my Futaba 9CAP I bought when I started

back in RC after my 20+ year layoff.  The Spektrum module system in the Futaba has worked without problem.

I wouldn't hesitate to fly it in any plane I own.
