John and I know each other pretty well working together on the Kfactor.. You are exactly right Jason, we share the same woes, just different setups.. I have went through many outrunners as John knows.. Now, I have a Hacker inrunner on the way.. Well, if the guy really shipped it.. lol.. I'm starting to think I got taken for my money.. lol If that doesn't work, I may go back to glow..
John always has the ultimate payback for me.. He could send me really bad articles and make me spend hours editing them.. I hope not, his are some of the best there are..
As you all can see with my articles, I'm a jokester.. Ask Tinky.. Although, his payback for me at the Hemet contest was pretty good... lol. You'll read about it soon I'm sure..
John, I hope you didn't take me the wrong way.. Heck, things can come off so wrong through email..

  Chris

I know there are some of us that joke around with replies, even to serious issues like your motor not running right. Eventually someone will come through with the right answer(s) and everyone will be happy again. I think we all understand your frustration. Glad to hear it's all good and when Chris burns up a motor and comes to the list asking what to do, you can tell him to get a YS...ROFLMAO... Good Luck and HAVE FUN!!!!

First I wish to apoligize to the list if it seemed I was a little frustrated last night. I was and I let it show. I am sorry.
Now for the good news...I think.
Just got finished running the motor on the stand. Earlier today it appeared the head gasket was leaking. But I need to back up a little first.
I had a new, unused 1.60 in the box. Last night I decided I would put it on the Focus this morning and run it. I still wasn't convinced I would make the Menomonee Falls contest this weekend since I was afraid I would not have the motor broken in well enough for a reliable idle.
All I need is to get caught at the bottom of a stall turn way out and down wind with a dead motor. When I tried to run the new motor a pretty severe mechanical issue raised it's head. Richard graciously agreed to warranty the motor but trying to run it was absolutley out of the question.
So...there I was with two motors going back. He convinced me that I should be able to find the leak...like so many of you tried to. He agreed that I could take what I needed off the new motor. Long story short I replaced the head gasket and after running it for about half a tank on the stand it seems dry. I'm about to go out and finish the tank but it looks good so far.
Thanks to all of you for the advice and suggestions. I tried to run down each and every one. In the process I learned a lot!
That's what it's all about.
A very big thank you!!!
See you in Wisconsin tomorrow!
:-)
JLK

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.EC_hmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;} I have a bad fuel/exhaust leak on my YS 1.60. It started just before my NMP header split but continued after replacing with
a Hatori header and 821 muffler. I'm getting pretty desperate trying to find it. I have replaced all the fuel lines. I have snugged up
the flange that screws in to the head. I have retightened the header flange. I have checked the valve cover gasket. I have checked
the head bolts but it still leaks. I consider the leak bad enough that if I don't get it fixed by tomorrow I will have to miss my second contest in a row because of it. It really soaks the inside of the engine compartment on the left (exhause) side. Bad enough that when I run my finger down the firewall it is wet with oil. The engine mount beams on the bottom sides are almost dripping.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
JLK
