[NSRCA-discussion] True RC batteries

Ah, I C...
I understand the difference of power from the pro lites. Great batteries in their day, still good today. When I switched to Flight Powers it was also hard to get people to listen that we had to tone our throttle curve. This in turn created less heat in my batteries also. Will be interesting to see numbers even if I need to buy a few sets to do it.. There will always be something better. I'm not brand dependent anymore.
As for them being practice packs, well I have for sets of 5350's, and I'd like to fly 6 or 7 flights sometimes. I don't mind charging at the field, but lately I haven't as I've been working on setup. Therefore even if the packs weren't up to snuff, they'd still make good practice packs.. And I never said anything about glow, or that it's lacking anything.
E-Glow, who cares. We all share a common love for the same sport.
Can't we all just get along? lol

to the TP Extremes V1) and give a little more power than the Pro-Lites.
I think Jim is saying that there is enough power difference that you
need to have different throttle settings (stick position) between the
True packs and the Pro-Lites. As far as the "c" ratings, all I know is
that the packs come down at maybe 90 degrees after a normal flight and
to me this means that we are not stressing them to any great extent so
the published "c" rating does not seem to preclude us from using them.
True R/C posts a discharge graph where they are discharging them at over
100 amps. But who knows, they might be good for 200 cycles or 25 - we
just don't know. So far it seems like worth experimenting with them to
see. Especially for the price. Remember though that we are comparing
them to our Pro-Lites that have in excess of 100 cycles already so the
comparison is already not really fair.
