Thanks for this Lance!! It's good that you aren't just letting it slide by because people didn't opt to voice opinion when it matters.. I think the membership should take things seriously when this stuff comes up.. This is ours (membership) for the taking.. We can make it into the type of organization that we neeed it to be.. It just takes everyone's help from time to time.. And the nsrca can't do it without help IMO.. Same goes with the Kfactor.. We can make it into a great magazine.. It just takes everyones help, by writing articles, sending pics and so forth.. Rules won't get made to peoples satisfaction without our help.

Just wanted to let everyone know where we currently are in the rules cycle. The vote last fall that was much discussed on this list was to determine which of the new proposals would be approved to go forward in the process. March 1 was the deadline for cross proposals. These were modifications or updates to the original proposals that are used to revise the wording of the original proposals before we make the final vote. It appears that no cross proposals were received (still need confirmation on this). This means the proposals, as published on the AMA site, now will be voted on "as is" for a yes/no vote.
Nothing wrong with this, but it surprises me. Some of the proposals were not too popular in my area, but I voted for all of them anyway so that none were tossed out before people had the opportunity to make them better. So the debate over them now will be very similar to before because the proposals are identical. Now, however, the CB members must vote whether the proposals should become rules, instead of whether we should continue revising them. The stakes are higher.
This is my plea that you all make some effort to debate them.

Subject: Cross proposals received?
I think March 1 is the deadline and they need to be published by March 15. Did we receive any?
